From the first botanical conversation to a commercially ready spirit with your name on it — we handle every step of bringing your gin or rum brand to life.
Start the Conversation Contract DistillingConcept to Commercial
Devon Distillery built one of the country's most loved spirit brands from scratch — from a single copper still and a borrowed pomace recipe to a five-strong award-winning range stocked in restaurants, hotels, and independent retailers across the country.
Through Still on the Move and our facility near Totnes, we bring that same expertise to your brand. Whether you have a clear brief or nothing more than a gut feeling that there's a gap in the market, we'll work with you from concept through to commercial production and ongoing supply.
Recipe Development
Everything starts with taste. We work with you to understand what you want your spirit to say — whether that's a sense of place, a personality, a departure from what already exists, or simply the most exquisite version of a classic style.
We'll produce sample batches using Ginny or our studio still, iterating the botanical blend until the recipe is exactly right. This process typically takes two to four sessions, each building on the last, until you have a gin or rum you're genuinely proud to put your name to.
If you'd rather start from a proven foundation, we can also begin from one of our award-winning house recipes and adapt it — a faster route to market without sacrificing quality.
Brand & Label Design
The spirit is only half the story. In a crowded gin aisle, the bottle, label, and overall presentation do enormous work — they communicate provenance, quality, and personality before a single drop is poured.
We work with experienced label and packaging designers who understand the spirits category and know what catches a buyer's eye. We can help you select your bottle format, choose stoppers and closures, develop a label design that stands out, and create the brand language that wraps it all together.
We can work from brand assets you already have or help you build a visual identity from scratch — whichever starting point fits your journey.
Production & Ongoing Supply
Once your recipe is locked and your label is approved, we move into commercial production. Devon Distillery's contract distilling operation can produce from 20 litres all the way up to thousands of litres — scaling with your demand as your brand grows.
We handle distillation, bottling, labelling, and finishing in-house. You receive palletted, market-ready stock at an agreed cadence — whether that's monthly, quarterly, or on a call-off basis.
Your recipe is documented, protected, and yours. We hold the production capability; you own the brand. As your volumes grow, we can grow with you — or we can continue supporting your brand as it grows.
The Journey
We talk through your concept, your market, your vision, and your timeline. No obligation — just a good conversation to see if we're the right fit.
We produce a tailored proposal covering recipe development, design, production costs, and timeline. All costs made clear from the start.
Two to four tasting and refinement sessions with our distiller to develop and perfect your recipe. You're involved at every step.
Bottle selection, label design, brand naming, and packaging decisions — guided by people who've done it before.
Your first commercial batch is produced, bottled, and labelled. We'll often use this run for a launch event if you're ready for one.
We produce your spirit on a regular schedule — consistently, to spec, at the quality your brand demands.
Where Are You Starting From?
We work with founders at all stages — from a spark of an idea to a half-formed brand to a fully scoped brief. Tell us where you are and we'll meet you there.
Proof of Concept
Every one of these spirits started as a conversation. Each has its own recipe, its own story, and its own label — and each is still being poured somewhere in the world today.
“We came to Still on the Move with nothing more than a name and a feeling. Six months later we had a gin we were genuinely proud of, a label that stopped people in their tracks, and our first stockist. The whole team was extraordinary to work with.”Gin Brand Founder, Devon
