Devon Distillery is the UK's most experienced contract distiller. Based at our award-winning distillery near Totnes, we work with bars, restaurants, hotels, retailers, event organisers, and emerging spirits brands to create outstanding spirits that carry their name and story.
Whether you have a fully formed brief or a spark of an idea, our team will guide you from concept through to a finished product you'll be proud to call your own — including all the compliance, licensing, and paperwork that comes with it.
Full-Service Distilling
Every spirits project involves a maze of compliance obligations. We've been navigating this for over 14 years — so you don't have to figure it out alone.
With every project we support our clients with:
Flexible Production
Whether you're testing a recipe or scaling for national distribution, we have the right run size for your business.
No matter the scale, every drop gets the same attention to craft and quality.
| Production Type | Volume Range | Ideal For |
|---|---|---|
| Pilot / Limited Edition | 20L – 250L | Recipe development, tastings, proof of concept |
| Boutique Production | 250L – 1,000L | House gin, boutique brands, limited editions |
| Commercial | 1,000L – 5,000L | Retail launch, hotel groups, regional distribution |
| Large Scale | 5,000L – 10,000L+ | National brands, wholesale, export |
Packaging & Finishing
The Bottle
We hold stock bottles in the most popular sizes — 70cl, 35cl, and 5cl miniatures — and can source other shapes and sizes to suit your brand. The stopper, seal, and finishing processes can transform the look and feel of your spirit completely.
Stock Bottle Styles
Held in stock for faster turnaround. Round bottles run more easily on the labelling machine, which keeps labour costs down. Other shapes and sizes sourced to order.
Stoppers & Closures

Vinolok glass stoppers are 100% recyclable. Wooden corks add warmth and craft character; heat shrink and wax sealing add premium theatre.
Identity
Your label is often the first thing a customer sees. We recommend considering this early — the right label transforms how your spirit is perceived on shelf or at the back bar.
We guide clients on legal label requirements (ABV, allergens, producer details), connect them with trusted designers, or work directly with your existing design team. Labels can be foiled, embossed, printed on paper, vinyl, or transparent stock.
Add wax emblems, metal badges, or luxury tamper-proof seals for a premium finish.
Label Print Routes
| Route | What it covers |
|---|---|
| We print | Digital print in-house, applied as part of your bottling run. Paper, vinyl, and transparent stock. Proofs supplied for approval before the run. |
| Specialist print | Outsourced to our trade partners for foiling, embossing, textured stocks, and other premium finishes. |
| You supply | Send us your finished labels and we apply them — useful if you already have a printer you work with. |
Whichever route you take, we check every label against the legal requirements — ABV, volume, allergens, and producer details — before anything goes to print.

Client Work
From a celebrated battleship gin to a farm shop favourite — here are some of the brands we've helped bring to life.
Created in partnership with HMS Ocean, the Royal Navy's former flagship helicopter carrier. A gin inspired by the sea, distilled aboard and then at our Devon distillery — one of the most distinctive navy gins ever produced. Also features in Still on the Move →
Riverford's organic credentials called for a gin that matched their farm-to-table philosophy. We developed a recipe using botanicals that reflected their seasonal, sustainable ethos — beautifully branded and stocked in their farm shop and kitchen.
A bespoke gin created for a Dartmouth restaurant, capturing the essence of the Devon coast. Watch the story behind the spirit:
